They are used for cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, chin, jawline and the tear trough. Results are visible immediately and last roughly 6–18 months depending on product and area. Aftercare
- Avoid pressure and massage on the area for 48 hours unless instructed
- No sauna, intense exercise or alcohol for 24 hours

Risks and side effects
Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and temporary. Lumps can occur and usually resolve or can be treated. Rarely, filler can block a blood vessel; this is a medical emergency, which is why detailed anatomical knowledge, cannula use in high-risk areas and immediate access to hyaluronidase matter.
Questions about this treatment
Will my lips look overfilled?
Not if volume is added in small steps and in proportion to the rest of the face. Shape and hydration often matter more than size.
Can filler be removed?
Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase.
How long does it last?
Lips around 6–9 months, cheeks and jawline 12–18 months. Individual metabolism and the product used affect duration.
